My February results for Evalina's Oldest UFO Challenge!

Here was the carousel horse last month

and now this month

Also, while cleaning up some of the havoc in my craft room, I found two more of those little Christmas kits. (I found and stitched two of these last year, too, after stitching about thirteen? fourteen? the year before and thinking that was all I had.) So these two will be going on this years to-do list. But I have to get another stocking done first because I forgot about it this month!!!

A Bird Friend for Fred

I took a break from the red books and shelf stitching to work on the last top corner. Several color changes and two blends later, Fred has a long-legged friend. Pardon the flash burn.

I shall name him 'Albert'.

Late Again - TUSAL

I forgot until I started reading blogs!

Photobucket

I love the way light shines through this bottle, but it makes it kind of hard to see the orts!

Our power has been going in and out today - it goes completely out or does this in and out business when we get a heavy, wet snow with no wind, because then we end up with two inches or more of snow sitting on our very old, decrepit power lines. And SNAP! go the lines! But it is supposed to start raining any minute now, which will melt off the last of the snow. I'll be happy!

You can see what I mean about the lines in this post, though we only had about 4-5 inches of snow this time.

Delayed IHSW Post!

We had our first 'power-goes-out' snowstorm of the season this weekend, so my post for IHSW is late!

I worked on QS Lovers, but since my house gets very little natural light, and stitching a HAED by candlelight is kinda tough, I didn't get a lot done.

I did make a hat, though! Much easier to crochet when you're in the dark.

I'll be checking out your posts soon!

Nice People!

I've had some lovely mail lately!

A few days ago I got a package from Demeter - I shamelessly begged for the pattern from a kit she had finished, and she sent it to me with the leftover threads, as well! I didn't expect that. The Goth Chick wants this picture stitched up for her new kitchen and I have been unable to find it here except on eBay, from a rather odd seller that I decided not to risk.

And then today when I checked my mail, I had an envelope from Joysze. She recently asked for opinions on some patterns she had, and I said someday I wanted to stitch L&L's 'The Quiltmaker' because it reminds me of my Grandmother, who quilts by hand. And she sent it to me for free! O_O I was shocked! and very, very happy! My Mum has immediately claimed that this one is hers! lol! Some day in the far distant future when it's stitched!!!

So see - lovely people! Thank you guys so very, very much!!!

And I cannot remember who posted the link on their blog to crazyanniesstitching on bonanza.com but THANK YOU! Lookie what I got!

Photobucket

That is, from left to right, a fat half of 28ct navy Jobelan, a fat quarter of 28ct black Lugana, and a 29x54 piece of 28ct ice blue Monaco. For very, very, very little. The Monaco was $10.50!!!

The title of my blog is very appropriate at the moment - I'm definitely feeling dazed!

In stitching progress, here's Fred!

Photobucket

I finished up his bottom shelf (!) and the first two red books are done. And I never once was tempted to toss him out a window back into WIP storage! That's kinda amazing, since that's what happened the last time I really worked on that bottom shelf - XD

Also I have some progress on the Eagle kit - two Sundays, and two more colors done.

Moving right along!

A Dilemna

DILEMNA: (definition) A dilemma (Greek: δί-λημμα "double proposition") is a problem offering two possibilities, neither of which is practically acceptable.

I was showing my Mum some pics of Julie's 'Portrait of Christ' project, because she's very religious and loves things like that. She liked the pictures, and then sighed a bit and said, 'It's been awhile since you've made me something religious', which is true. I stitched her The Lord's Prayer back in 2004 (I think).

So I actually had the same pattern that Julie's working with, in kit form, so I went and found it. I also, for the heck of it, pulled out every other kit I had with a picture of Jesus on it and took them all to Mum's house. I laid them out on her counter and said, 'Pick one, and I'll see if I can't get it done for your and Da's anniversary.' That's December 31st, and it's their 40th. So, it needs something special.

These were her choices:

She surprised me by picking up Psalm 23, and said 'I like this one, but your Da will like this one' and she picked up O, Jerusalem. (Those happen to be the two biggest kits. One is 16x20 and the other is 14x19.)

Photobucket

She told me to pick, and trotted off to change clothes because she was going somewhere. Meanwhile, my Da came home and asked what the kits were. I said I was trying to decide which to stitch for them, and did he have a preference? He looked at all of them, picked up O, Jerusalem, and said, 'I like this one, but your Mum will like that one'.

And pointed to Psalm 23.

I think they have been married tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long!

I told them so, and showed them each other's choices, which they thought was hilarious.

So here's my dilemna - which one? Or - both?

Either way, I've given myself a rule this year - two finishes before one new start. So it will be at least the end of this month before one is started. I've been working like mad on Fred all day today, and I'll have an update of him tomorrow, because if I really focus, he could be done this month. But which (or both) would you guys choose?

WIPocalypse again!

Not a lot of progress.

I did finish up Mudkip, & I've also stitched a bit on some Sprites and another stocking.

Mudkip

He's done! and adorable!

Photobucket

He was done on Feb 2nd, but I've been a bit under the weather and also horribly busy... nice combination! So I'm just getting around to posting. He's the only thing I've stitched the last week except for about 20 stitches on Cardinal Song. Hope this week is more productive!!!

Mudkip pattern is by DorkStitch!

I hope to make him into something for the Goth Chick before her birthday in early March, but I have to find out which option she wants - pillow, purse or framed picture.
