Q is for Quotable

Q is for 'Quotable'.

I guess there was no character from 'Buffy', 'Angel' or 'Firefly' that started with the letter Q.

But that's all right, because this book exists:

I really need to get this book, but I keep forgetting about it.  Sad, since it's really cheap on amazon (here's a LINK).

I agree that there are some awesome quotes on this show, but I'll go with one of my favorite Spike quotea, done in a cross stitch - the cross stitch is on my to-do list; you can buy the pattern on etsy HERE (It's not my shop.)  It's by plasticlittlecovers .

I'm getting very close to the Spike block!  Only 'R' between it and me :D  Spike is my favorite :D :D :D

P is for...

P is for Principal Snyder, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Principal Snyder replaced Principal Flutie after the former was, um, eaten.  By possessed students.

Snyder portrays himself as a strict principal who is very concerned with the school's image; he's actually one of the bad guys, an underling of the then-main bad guy, who was the Mayor of Sunnydale, where the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer is based.  Here's his LINK.  He's pretty rotten to Buffy, blames her for everything, gets her in trouble with the police more then once, and eventually expels her, although he's later forced to let her come back.

He's also responsible for the Parent/Teacher night which has some of the best early scenes with Spike, and Spike is my favorite, so I don't completely hate his character, haha!

Principal Snyder is played by Armin Shimerman:

It's IHSW this weekend, but I didn't get to sign up - the sign up blog, Random Ramblings, had the list filled with spam websites so they closed sign-ups down. (That sentence just doesn't sound right, lol!)  I may still do it, anyway, although it will only be tomorrow that I can work on Lovers.  We'll see!

O is for...

O is for 'Once More, With Feeling'

I really would have expected O to be for Oz (Danny Osborne, the werewolf) but, nope!

This is another episode title - and boy, was it a doozy!  The bad guy (nameless in the episode, but credited as 'Sweet') made people spontaneously start singing (and dancing), sometimes about whatever random thing they were doing, but mostly about their 'hidden truths'.  It really advanced some plotlines and was pretty good for character development.

This episode is extremely popular, but... I don't watch it very often.  The first time I laughed a lot (Spike is my favorite, but I never expected to see him singing his feelings to Buffy O__o and I just sat there, blinking and snickering) but repeated viewing, at least for me, goes past amusement and into annoying.  TOO MUCH SINGING! AUGH!

I do watch it every once in a blue moon, though.  I sometimes like musicals.  Sometimes.  It comes and goes XD

Anyway, this block brings me to the end of the third row!

The next two blocks are very simple, which is good because it's IHSW this weekend and I will need the time if I decide to participate.

N is for 'Nightmares'

N is for 'Nightmares'!

'Nightmares' is not a character, it is one of the most famous episodes of Buffy; the Vampire Slayer.  It's one of the early ones, number 10 in Season One, I think, and it's considered one of the best episodes, depending on which list you read, lol!  I won't give away too much of the plot, just that everyone is experiencing their nightmares and worst fears while they are awake, like Buffy's father telling her she's a terrible child and the reason her parents got divorced, Giles the Librarian/Watcher forgetting how to read, Xander's clothes disappearing in the middle of class.

Spike's not in this episode; he doesn't show up at all in the first season, He shows up in Season 2.  Spike is my favorite - wonder what his nightmare would have been?  ...Probably, now that I think of it, the events that happened to him for real were his worst nightmares.  Poor baby :C

M is for Mal!

M  is for Malcolm Reynolds:

Also known as Mal, he is the captain of the Serenity on the show Firefly (and in the movie Serenity).  Here's his LINK, with the usual Whedon-verse angst filled back story!  I won't go into all the detail here - it would take tooooo long!

Mal is played by Nathan Fillion:

Back to the 'pretty', hehehe!  I like Mal, mostly.  I like Jayne better.  Can't help it XD

Mal is pretty but grumpy.  Spike is pretty but sarcastic.  Therefore, Spike is my favorite!  (Actually, there's a whole lot of other reasons why Spike is my favorite and letter 'S' is getting closer!  But I promise to keep that a short post.)

The symbol with Mal's name is the symbol on the side of his ship.  It's the ship's name, Serenity.  I think it's Chinese characters.  I think.

The marker certainly didn't last two days - the picture above is about six hours after I marked it.  I tried the eraser on most of Lorne's block; that did work pretty well.  So if you get this marker, use it on short term projects.  I'll have to find something else for marking long-term if I don't want to redo it every day.

Also, I have updated the 'L' post from yesterday with the finished block!

L is for Lorne

UPDATED!

L is for Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan, aka Lorne!

Here's a change of pace from the 'pretty' actors and actresses!  Lorne is very amusing and very interesting-looking, but I'm not sure I'd call him 'pretty'!  Here's a LINK to read all about him - he's a pretty major character on 'Angel' (I don't think he interacted with many of the 'Buffy' characters beyond the main ones that were on 'Angel')

Lorne is played by Andy Hallett, and here he is in full makeup :D

The music notes work perfectly for Lorne; he has adjusted his species hunting instinct to be able to read auras, and he can do it best when the person is singing - so when he came to this dimension, he opened a karaoke bar :D

He read Angel's aura and Angel sang Barry Manilow.  The rest of the cast never let him forget XD.  I don't think Spike was there at the time; he would have been the worst at never letting him forget, lol!  Spike is so much my favorite!

I got a new fabric marker in - I've never tried this brand before.  It's supposed to fade in a day or two or erase.  We'll see.

K is for Kaylee

K is for Kaywinnet Lee Frye!

Also known as Kaylee!  She is the Serenity's mechanic on the show 'Firefly'.  Kaylee is sweet and kind of sees the best in people, and you can read all about her HERE!

Kaylee is played by Jewel Staite.

The strawberry is perfect for Kaylee; she loves them!  Once a passenger was allowed to pay his fare with them.  This is Kaylee's reaction:

Makes me want strawberries!  Can't wait until they are in season - greenhouse strawberries usually taste like water and are like biting into red rocks.

I really like Kaylee.

Spike is my favorite, though.
