IHSW - Angels and Rabbits

I worked on two projects during IHSW - I chose my Lavender and Lace 'Angel of Grace' to work on next in my rotation and I absolutely will not take her to work with me.  I'm terrified of getting her dirty.  Since I work all weekend, I made sure to take something else along.

Here's a picture of the Angel of Grace (I call her Gracie) as she will look when she's finished:

And the most recent picture I could find of her - which is not very recent.  I don't think I've picked her up since early last year.

So here's how she is now - still in the Q-snap because I'll be working on her until whatever time I put my stitching away on the 24th.

I got more of that big white piece done, some ribbon and some of the pale pink beside the white.

The project I took to work was my bunnies,  These were a Crazy January start in 2013 or 2014.  They got very little love at the time.

How they will look - sorta, I'm doing the pink and the blue, and then I'm going to do some words and a green one.  (These are a free pattern from Hazel's Farm - I can't find the link.)

So here's the picture I took way back when I started them:

And how they look now:

Lest you think I spent all my time at work stitching, I did have a little more of the pink bunny already done. :D  These will continue to come to work with me; I want to finish them up so I can try and make them into a cushion.  They will be a gift for my Mum, with a story behind it which I'll tell when they're done.  I'm going to try - dunno if it will last long - to finish two things before starting a new one... but I got four projects I want to start so we'll just see how that goes!

Hope you all had a great stitchy weekend!  I'm off to check out some blogs :D :D :D

March IHSW

I almost forgot to post!  I didn't get much done on Lovers; just filled in more confetti.

Before:

After:

A lot of the stitches around the flower are done but you can't see them that well - they are a bunch of shades of pale-this and very light-that. His hair will be so much easier when I get to it -  still light colors but mostly big blocks.  The whole second page is so much easier!  I'm hoping it will go faster. But in April's IHSW I am going to do my best to finish this page off.  I thought maybe I could do it this time but I kept falling asleep instead of stitching XP

I did a little coloring too, not much - not going to bother with a 'WIP' pic for my posters, but my Mum came up for a while and wanted to do one, too.  She decided on this one:

We worked on them for a long time one evening and still didn't get much done - I'll show the posters off when they are finished.  They will take a while - so detailed!  And both of us are trying to be perfectionists :D

February IHSW

I'm late, had to work extra - bleh!
Here's last month's 'Lovers' progress:

And a dark pic of this month's slight progress.  Lots of confetti and very little time :D  I actually have a day off on Wednesday so I'm considering giving this one more day this month.

I worked on Mini-Rings, too, but I'll post that tomorrow!

A Little Late, but Not Forgotten - IHSW

I have some new readers! Yay! *insert frantic 'hello' waving here*

So I will say, as before, that I work all weekend so IHSW, sadly, is not a lot of free time for me.

I did get progress, though, and on two projects, though one was only 'cause I was waiting and had it in my purse.

I finished the cross stitches and started the back stitching on my Cherub Stocking:

And the main IHSW project, which is QS Lovers, went from here:

To here:

I also did a bit of crocheting but I'm not ready to show it yet - I did round 11 of the Magic Rings CAL and I decided to go ahead and do the Moogly Afghan CAL because I had never done the stitch technique used in the first square and wanted to give it a shot.  It's not too hard, though it looks it, but I'm not finished with the square yet.

So that will be a post for later this week :D  Hope you all had fun this weekend; I'm off to check other IHSW posts now!

March IHSW

For IHSW, I worked on Lovers, as usual!  I also had to pull some double-shifts again this weekend, so I didn't work on it much.

As they were:

As they are now:

 photo loversMarch_zps2e4fc6ff.jpg

She has 934 in her hair, which I found kinda weird but oh well.  I also got all but two or three stitches of the confetti in and around his hand done!  I did a few bits under his chin and in his hair, too.  So even though it's not much progress, I'm still happy with it!  But next month I'm going to find some blue stitches for that flower, I really am!

February IHSW

I worked on Lovers!

Before:

After:

If I hadn't decided on a nap yesterday,  I would have finished off all the black on this page.  Oh, well.  I have finished off her face, ear and neck now, just have a wee bit of confetti in his hand to finish all the skin on this page.  Now to get to that flower in her hair!

IHSW - November

It was IHSW!  But I didn't know it on Friday since there was no main blog post until really late - therefore, very little stitching.  But I had fun anyway!

October IHSW

Sorry, sorry!  I have been gone all day!  No chance to post until now.

As usual, I worked on Nostlagy for my IHSW project - I can't wait to get my half-page done and get back to Lovers, though.  For some reason it is so much more fun to work on!  I'm not sure why.

Anyway, here is QS Nostlagy last IHSW:

 photo nostSEPT_zpsf7d48106.jpg

I finished her hair! I think.

 photo nosthairdone_zps72ec791e.jpg

I know I finished all the three main colors, fixed a few mistakes, and then I did two needle-fulls worth of brown confetti stitches around the main colors.  There are probably more shades of brown to go, but I decided to go back to the background for now.  I know that looks like the hoop-mark left holes in my stitches, but it's just the light reflecting off the floss.  It's not as bad as it looks!  The mark will go away when I wash and press her.

Par for the course, I did not have much time with her this weekend, but I did get a little of the background done, too.  This is how the project looked on Sunday:

 photo nostOCTihsw_zps26beaa37.jpg

I also worked on three afghans at various times.  I will have an afghan done sometime this week!  The pretty green one.  I will take some pics of the others when I photograph it.

Off to check other blogs now!

Almost Late! September IHSW

I was planning to post around nine this morning, but I got a call at 7:45 from my supervisor saying she felt 'so sick' and could I be there to open up at 8:00?  Um - no, it takes me 12 minutes to drive if I floor it, and you just woke me out of a sound sleep - I cannot get ready for a full day's work in three minutes!

So she went and opened and I got there about 8:20 and she's on the phone chattering away - ARGH!  Seemed fine until someone would say 'I thought you were sick' and then it was moan and groan.  I was almost amused.  She finally got off the phone and left at 9:30.

Oh well.  I can use the hours.

Anyway - enough about my complaining!!!  Here is Nostlagy last IHSW:

 photo nostAug_zps41547c3f.jpg

And my progress - I nearly finished her hair.  Would have, if I didn't end up having to frog because of three little stitches... and I ended up having to frog them twice (it included the stitches around them).  First time they were too far over.  Fixed it, but then realized that they should have been a row higher, too.  Bleh.

 photo nostSEPT_zpsf7d48106.jpg

I still had fun, though!  Next time around I WILL finish up her hair and get back to the leaves.

IHSW Report for August!

I was sticking strictly to Lovers for IHSW, but I really need to get a half-page done on Nostlagy, so she's my 'new' IHSW project until I have - hmm, roughly 4,500 stitches.  Or thereabouts.  Or, what would be better, an actual half-page of the chart, but I usually jump around too much for that.

I worked on her hair, and since it's been a long time since I've touched her, here's how she was:

QS Nostlagy - April 2013 photo nost4s_zps572242ef.jpg

I had to work, as usual, but here's how she is now:

 photo nostAug_zps41547c3f.jpg

It seemed like more than that last night, but I guess it's not too bad.  Got most of the black on this side of her hair done, and started filling in with 3371.  The picture doesn't show much difference in the two colors.  It's subtle, but it is there.

I have an ornament finish to show tomorrow!  Or whenever I remember to post again, lol!  Maybe some Bothy progress, too, if I reach my goal.

I did do something that I've felt I should for a while - I cleaned up my poor WIP page.  I took off all the projects that were barely started - anything with less than fifty stitches or so.  I folded them gently away (mentally, at least) and put them back with the stash.  Can I pretend they were never started?  Lol!  I left the projects that I felt had some real progress - okay and a few that only have a tiny bit but that I want to keep working on!  So my page is all nice and neat, now, with less than half the number of WIPs - and some reserved slots for a few projects that I've been meaning to start.  Those will be shown (and explained!) very soon!

IHSW for May

Back to Lovers - a face last month:

 photo loveApril_zpsf776be10.jpg

And a face this month!

 photo loveIHSWmay_zpsca3b0b23.jpg

Or well, most of a face.  I didn't quite finish a few of the confetti stitches.  But at least she doesn't look like an alien any more!  He got a bit more of his neck, and I did a tiny bit of the black in her hair because there's so much of it.  Next month - her neck and his hand!  And more hair for both of them.

IHSW for April

Today will not be the big-picture post I was thinking it would be, because I forgot it is IHSW report day!

Here is Lovers before:

 photo lovMar_zpsb5a6d6b3.jpg

I only had a very little time again, since I always have work on the weekends, so I decided that this time around, I would not stitch on both faces, but focus on one. (Although, the other did get a little bit.)

This is the result:

 photo loveApril_zpsf776be10.jpg

Yay!  One alien-face gone!  One alien-face to go!

PS - HAEDs are on sale again.  Give me strength!!!

March IHSW

Alternate Title - 'How I Did Not Stick to My Plan'

Here's QS Lovers after a small amount of love on Thursday and Friday evenings:

 photo lovMar_zpsb5a6d6b3.jpg

I was going to just focus on his face, but I printed out the other pages and thought - well, there's the rest of his face... and his neck...  and so my plan to get his face (at least from page one) done this turn went right out the window.  I also added to her neck and his hand.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday I had to work, as always, and at the busiest of my job sites, so I didn't want to take a HAED.  I thought I'd take along the two Sprites I wanted to finish, and see how I could do on lunch breaks.  But I somehow managed to abandon that plan, too, and just start filling up the bit of material with black outlines.

Like so:

 photo marspri_zps8efd8778.jpg

I must not have been paying the least bit of attention, because they don't line up at all.  The three Avengers were already done - I've stitched four Final Fantasy outlines and two and a partial of the Batman ones.  There's room for two more Sprites on this piece (they'll eventually be cut apart) and the Joker will go after Harley.  I dunno who the last one will be.  Maybe Rinoa and the dog.

I also got my Mosaic afghan from 105 repeats to 120.  Only ten left to go before the edging!  Yay!

Since I showed off some work on a Nene Thomas pattern, here's another of her's from one of my HAED layaways.  This is 'House Divided'.  That dress is going to be sooooo very gorgeous!

IHSW is this weekend!

It's time for the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend again - you can go here to join!

I'm going to work on QS Lovers as usual - last month I did so little that I didn't bother taking a picture, so here's the last time I took a photo:
 photo love8.jpg

She only got a tiny bit more of her skin, he got maybe ten stitches of his.  I'd like to get all their face skin done.

...

That sounded vaguely creepy.

HAED has a sale, and I didn't buy anything!  Go me, lol!  But my cousin that wants all the Hannah Lynn's bought one more QS during the sale.  She let me pick :D

I chose QS Heart on Her Sleeve
 photo QSheartonhersleeveprint_zps05483077.jpg

I picked her because I like the bottle stuck in her hair.  I'm not sure why. But she's very pretty!  Lots more black in my future, though.  Which , by the way - I'm almost done with the black of Amanda & Axel's first page.  There's a lot more on the big ones than the QS's; maybe I should have started Wintergreen Wishes first... oh well.

Tomorrow I will have a pic for the Turtle Trot!

Coming in on Approach

I've been soooooooooo busy!

I had to work all of last week except for Thursday, when I spent all day at the dentist.  This week I had to work all day Sunday and then spent Monday with Mum's family and Tuesday with Dad's.

So, of course, the Eagle is not done, but I'm getting closer!

Here's the result from IHSW - added Medium Grey
Photobucket

and then I got about half of the Dark Grey done and finished up later:
Photobucket

Since then I've added Medium Golden Brown:
Photobucket

And while stitching that, discovered I had skipped some quarter stitches of Medium Yellow up among the feathers of his wingtip, and that I had completely ignored the line of Golden Brown (the lightest shade) that highlights his wing.  So I added those and a few quarter stitches that I had also managed to skip on his head:
Photobucket

Now I have only four colors left!  Two shades of brown, two shades of red, and then on to the backstitching!  (And a couple of dark grey stitches I only just now saw were missing!)  I'm currently working on a red, and although I had to work today and I have to work the next four days, two of them are at the job site that I'm allowed to stitch, so I have some high hopes!

Also, there was a payday, therefore there was WSnB!

Eye Spy

and Afternoon Promenade

And I'm trying to decide which chart to knock off my wishlist in the HAED sale that starts tomorrow!  I'd love to do another layaway, but I swore I'd pay one off first.  Anyone else going to grab one?

IHSW - November

Eh.

Photobucket

Maybe next year weekends won't be as hectic... this is staying as my IHSW project until it's done.

PS - she looks a bit less like the Wicked Witch, though!  :D

IHSW - October (Late!)

I didn't get to work on Lovers much - I was hoping for today off for some catch-up but it didn't work out.
So I only got about half his hair done - I had grand visions of his hair and face both being complete.  I totally should have known better - lol!

IHSW - September :D

It's a conspiracy!  I didn't work on Lovers on Thursday; I worked more on the little Brave, because Monday was free and clear for a long, lovely stitch-fest.

Then I got called in to work. So instead of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and then freedom! an extra day got eaten up.

*insert wail here*

At least my paycheck will be nicer XD

Here's how Lovers did look:

Photobucket

And how they look now:

Photobucket

I think I finished up most of the background.  His profile stands out clearly, of course, but right now he looks ready to kiss the Wicked Witch of the West!  There are a few stitches that are prolly background, and a big chunk under her chin that confused me until I remembered his hand was there.  But I did finally start a few stitches of his hair - so I feel all accomplished, lol!  Even though I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted.

Today at work, I took the Ghost Cat in the Chair (I thought ghost!cat, too, rosey! even thought about doing a pale grey outline, but I didn't feel like doing the half cross of the chair and cushion he would have needed behind him to look all invisible!) and finished up all the crosses.  I started the backstitch - beyond the rug, of course - but not until after I took the picture.  The next time I post about this, it will be with a finish!

Photobucket

I took Christmas Bells along, too, but lately they have just gotten no love at all.  They're so little, and yet I have done only a few stitches when they could be another wee finish.  Oh, well.  Soon.

Photobucket
