Summer's Joy - New Start

This was my April 1st start - Summer's Joy by Precious Moments/Gloria and Pat

She's for my mum - I've been promising her these four seasonal girls for years.  I finished Voice of Spring last year and I don't know if I posted so here she is, just in case!

I'm stitching them all on 14ct white aida since that's what I did the first one on when I started her eons ago!

Later, dears!

The Counting House - New Start

This is my March 1st start!

'The Counting House' by Little House Needleworks.  I've had this in my stash for a while, and last year I got the specialty flosses for it so it went pretty high up my 'Want to Start' list.

It got one day, but at least it's started!

It'll get some more focused stitching, probably in June.  I think it will be a simple finish.

I hope!

It's on the called for 32ct linen, Smokey Pearl.  I got the linen and the pattern off of someone's stash unload blog, years ago.  I just needed to get the DMC and four overdyed flosses and now I have them :D

February - New Start

Hello!

Here's a new start I did on February 1st, 'February' by the Prairie Schooler.  I stitched January last year - I'll check to see if I ever posted that - so I got this one out for my #stitch9challenge.  It's been kitted and waiting forever!

Here's my start:

And I got a bit more done on it, too:

I don't know when it'll come back up in rotation, but I'm looking forward to it!

It's on 32ct lambswool evenweave - I can't remember if it's jobelan or lugana.

Back soon!

Archangel - Progress

This is Archangel by Mirabilia - he is one of my #stitch9challenge pieces.

Here's where he was the last time I posted about him:

and I've only worked on him once, but I finished his other wing and did some of his over-one skin, and I think some little bits in other places but I can't remember.

He's on 32ct Thunderstorm Belfast linen by Silkweaver (old).  I still love him and maybe I'll get a lot done on him.  A finish would be awesome but 'My Day Off' comes first!

Thanks for visiting!

Mary Wigham - Progress

Hello again!

There will be a lot of posts over the next weeks as I try to catch up on everything I haven't shared.  I'm going to try posting every other day or something like that so I don't drown the blog, lol!

I am doing A Motif A Month (this used to be a challenge somewhere but I don't remember where) on my Mary Wigham sampler, which hasn't seen the light of day in quite a while!

Here's where it was:

And here's my progress!

January - I redid the basket and put the initials to the right in. Also started the next one because I was having fun:

February:

March - I did the coral flower/basket and several sets of initials.  I do have to change the JS to JP but I'll get around to it:

I've not done April yet - I'll have to get crackin'!

Hobby Lobby Clearance Sale Stash

Hobby Lobby has apparently been having a clearance sale for a while but my local (relatively speaking) store never had any cross stitch clearance items.

Until yesterday!  I finally got me some :D

I freely admit the last two are my favorites!

I have a pretty strict starting plan for this year, so none of these are up too soon - but I may have to rearrange things for that owl.  We'll see.

Talk to ya later!

Flower of the East - Almost Done!

You know what they say about good intentions, right?  Well, I had the BEST of intentions of posting at least weekly on this blog but it just didn't work out for me.

Because I forgot.

Yes, I am terrible XD

Anyway, I'm going to try and do better!  I've set a reminder on my phone and everything.  We'll see how long it lasts.

This is my lovely Flower of the East by Dimensions.  I have the leaflet; if you buy her as a kit, she is Gold Collection.  She is one of my #stitch9challenge pieces and here is where she was the last time I worked on her.

I spent most of March on her - I tried Mostly Monogamous March and did pretty good.  All the cross stitch is done. I have to finish the backstitch and do the fancy bits - Cording, Couching, regular French Knots, French Knots with three strands of metallic, lazy daisies, and so on.  She's on break for April, though, because I burnt myself out on her tricksy backstitching.  Here's a lot of progress pictures.

I'll come back in a few days to show you another project!  I've yet to finish anything this year but there's a few starts you haven't seen.  Also, some finishes from last year that I don't think I showed.  I'll have to check!

Progress

Sorry, today was the last day of rotation, not yesterday.

Here's my lovely progress!

Now I'm going back to my focus piece, which is My Day Off.  Here's my current position and I'll be back in five days!

So I Have Not Posted in Forever.

Again.
And I apologize.
But here's a post 😀

So I started off the year as usual. New Year's Day start:

And then I joined every SAL ever.

And then I un-joined.  I'm going to try being sensible.

ONE SAL. Just one. And a nine project limit SAL, at that.  Instead of being crazy.  Even though I still plan to work on whatever calls to me.

I'm not doing this no new starts in 2019 thing At All.  No worries there. I am still doing 'finish two to start one' and currently, I could start 6 projects. I'm halfway to being able to start seven.

I'm also sleepy and rambling.

The SAL I stuck with is an Instagram one, #stitch9challenge.  (I'm @tamastitches on Instagram if you want more frequent updates).

Here's the first project and my starting point. Its turn is over tonight so I'll hopefully remember to post here tomorrow.

Thanks to anyone who still looks at this poor, neglected blog. See you soon!

Two More!

Hi guys!

So for May I thought I'd try just one project - ONE - because I need to do a fairly intricate baby layette, too. So I'm working on 'My Day Off' and getting nowhere fast.  I'll show you guys my progress at the end of the month.  Meanwhile, I don't think you've seen these two finishes!

'Portrait of Christ' and the Bent Creek Snappers both got done and framed while I wasn't posting. The Snappers aren't actually fastened in the frame yet - they were a present for my Mum and while I was waiting for some framing supplies to come in, she absconded with it and I haven't gotten around to stealing it back to frame properly 😁😁😁

Also, first post from a phone so I hope it looks o.k.

Back soon!

Some Other Finishes

Here's some more of the finishes I did when I wasn't posting.

'A is for Anchor' by The Prairie Schooler

These two aren't entirely new but I did finally get around to putting the names on them.

'Many Moons'

All of those three are from Gloria and Pat 'Precious Moments' books, Vol 1 and Vol 2, to be exact.  I gave them to my Mum for her anniversary and we're just waiting to find the right frame - we want to frame them all in one long frame.

I'll be back with more of these, too, when I figure out what I have and haven't posted!

Better Late Than Never! YoW Update for April

Sorry this is a little late - it took a ridiculously long time to update my album in the Facebook group!

Okay, so - no pics of projects that I didn't work on, but here's what I did get done:

Three Kings - before:

Finished!

 January - before:

Finished!

Lucky Fish - before:

One fish done, the words done, and started both the other two.

Sunset Birds - before:

I'm further into it, although not done with the section yet.

Lovers - before:

Added 1000+ stitches

Rose Bouquet - before:

This has taken over the 'purse kit' spot and now looks like this:

Acquainted with the Night - before:

Got more endless blues and greys done:

I also have a tiny bit of snow to do and Frosty Forest #2, Raccoon Cottage, will be done but... I LOST it.  How do you lose a project that big?!  Actually, I think I may have properly put it away and that's why I can't find it now.  Sheesh.  I'll find it and finish it up - really, like one needle-full of floss! and it'll be done! and then I'll post it.

Some others got a few stitches done, but that's really about it.  Not a hugely productive time but I finished two so I'm satisfied.

Also, I did have a birthday in March and that meant a free birthday start (I'm sticking with 'finish two to start one' and have three 'earned' starts that I haven't used yet).  I got this Riolis kit earlier this year:

And I did this very small start, and haven't worked on it since:

Riolis kits usually have a wool/acrylic super-fine yarn instead of floss.  I've always hesitated about getting one because I'm allergic to wool, but I, hmm, possibly may have gotten some white cotton glove liners, which are like super, super thin, flimsy gloves, and stitch with those on.  Probably, I look like a twit, but I can stitch the pretty Riolis things, so I don't care.

Later, my dearies - I'll post some more finishes soon! (things I finished when I wasn't posting!)

Hobby Lobby Sale!

Hey all! I know I didn't do a post last month like I said I would - sorry about that! I'll have one up on the 18th or thereabouts, though. I have TWO finishes to show you ☺

In the meantime, didya know Hobby Lobby has a huge amount of kits on clearance? You should go if you can!

Behold - my haul!

Like I needed more kits, right?  But I did not care at all.  I took a jar of change I had been saving and swapped it for a $50 bill, and told myself I would not go over that.  Spent $50.09, so I lied.  Ha!

Back on the 18th with my progress for YOW!
