My Olympic 'Sprints'

So, since the Olympics start tomorrow, I thought I'd post a list of the small pieces I want to do.  At first, this wasn't this long, until I read Measi's post about the Stitching Olympics starting Friday but actually going all through August.  So I added :D

1. Warm Hearts (a tiny Christmas Ornament)
2. Christmas Bells (ditto)
3-10. Missy's Avengers Sprites:  Loki, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye, & Iron Man
11. Chibi-Sev (one of my Crazy-January starts)
12-13. Two of my Stocking ornaments
14. Finish up 'Home is Where the Cat Is' (5x7)

I may add to this, but I figured that was enough for now, especially since I want to see if I can finish off Fred by the end of August.  I know I've said that before, but I'm so close...!

IHSW for July :D

I finally got back to some stitching!

I stitched up Meryl and Milly from Trigun, to go with Vash and Wolfwood.  The patterns are from the DorkStitch blog.

I also worked on Fred - his shelves are now complete!  Only books, backstitching and some shiny stuff to go.



Whilst browsing blogs, I found Measi's doing an Olympics SAL... I wanna join!  I just don't know if I'll try for the Sprint or the Rotation Relay.  I lean towards the Sprint.

Framing and a Finish (Picture Heavy)

I know, it's been forever!
I'm so sorry!
And wow! I have 101 followers!  When did THAT happen?!

I haven't been stitching much this summer - too much pool and jigsaw puzzles! But I have gotten some framing done and a little finish to show you guys :D




Going to Market  is now hanging on my Mum's wall in her Africa/jungle themed den.  She already had this frame and the glass, I only had to pay for the mat and the work.




Mermaid of the Deep will soon be hanging on my living room wall, as soon as I figure out where. Sorry for the flash burn, it was impossible to get her focused without it.  The framer chose to pick up the weird skin tones in her tummy for the mat - I like it!




I don't remember the name of this kit, but it's going in my living room, too.  I got the antique frame at a flea market, and the framer added the mat and glass.  The Mermaid's frame color was chosen to match the gold trim on this one.



and doesn't Spike look gorgeous?  I couldn't figure out how he was going to be framed so that he wouldn't blend into the mat, but my framer said to trust her and I'm glad I did!

Total for getting these four pieces framed?  $46.23!!!  I love my framing shop!!!  Small, independent business for the win!  :D :D :D

Life has gotten in the way of my stitching, but I have done a little.  I think I will be back on a regular schedule soon!
I've finished a few ornaments and that's about it.  However, I have a framing project to show off as soon as I pick it up!  So I'll put the ornament pics and that picture together :D
I did start doing puzzles again a few days ago, and started a blog for them just for the heck of it.

Progress After Absence

Sorry I was gone so long with no posts - I've been feeling poorly. First the weird Not-Spring weather gave me a nasty cold and my allergies made their annual reappearance, then I picked up a stomach virus and THEN the flu.

Bleh.

I didn't get much stitching done during this, and none at all on large projects. Just some little stuff except for QS Lovers. So here's a few before-and-after pics! Sorry for the hoop marks - I left one in the hoop waaaaayyyy longer than I meant to! I also completely missed the TUSAL post - maybe I'll take a pic, anyway, since I haven't put any of my April orts in the bottle yet :D

Before (this was my IHSW project, which I didn't get to post about due to being doped up on cold meds - no matter what, those things put me dead asleep! Even non-drowsy ones!)



After - I made it to the right side of page one and did some small confetti stitches. This pic looks very blue & purple, but it's really greys. My flash isn't working.

I'm a little unhappy with this one, beyond the hoop marks - the pic on the front of the kit shows three distinct shades of blue in the chair, but the actual floss has the dark and medium colors really, really close. I didn't notice it until I was taking the pic, but since I've stitched all of the medium and most of the dark, I'm not taking it out. I'll live with it! There is more distinction than this picture shows; hopefully I'll have my flash fixed for the next one.

WIPocalypse for March

Looks a bit familiar!



Almost the same projects as last time, just with the addition of some sprites and Lovers. I do have another sprite almost done, she just needs two colors I don't have.

The Books of Doom

Fred's Six Red Books of Doom are done!



Only three books and that bit of top shelf to go, and his main stitches will be finished :D

I've also stitched some of Missy's DorkStitch sprites (yay, more!)

Vash & Wolfwood from the Trigun anime



and Lizzie Borden, if she did it!



I also want to stitch her without the bloodstains and hatchet, in the color of dress she said she was wearing, to go with this one. Hopefully, Missy won't mind!
