G is for Rupert Giles!
Giles is the Watcher in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; he came to California from England and got a job as the high school librarian so he could help and train the Slayer and still have a reason to be around teenagers that 'Normal People' would accept. As he is a constant character throughout the show, he has a very long story and here's his LINK for your reading enjoyment!

The books are an obvious choice for him :D They were fun to stitch, too. I love books! Giles is in my top ten favorite characters - he doesn't top Spike, of course; Spike is my favorite! But he shares space with Spike, Angel, Wesley and Xander and a few other guys. I tend to like the guys in shows the best.
I love those books too! I have to say that's quite the pretty cast of these shows!
